Public Television and Radio was awarded for its 2010 activities

Ismayil Omarov, Director General of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Azerbaijan was awarded “Azeri Business Award” for his successes gained within 2010 in the sphere of television. The presentation of the first award instituted by “Business Time” magazine was held in “Buta Palace”.

Short film on successes of the television within 2010 was demonstrated at the presentation ceremony. Hosting of the Public Television the European Broadcasting Union General Assembly for the first time in CIS was emphasized especially. It was said that the Public Television has already become a press organization known as an address of the international projects in Azerbaijan. Public Television successfully organized the participation of Azerbaijan in the “Eurovision Song Contest”, shed light on the parliamentary elections at a high level and provided all candidates with free air times. All these activities are among the works of 2010. Besides, Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Azerbaijan realizes TV Bridges with Turkey, Georgia, Hungary, the Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and other states constantly. It was also said that the Public Television has also become an organization producing films. More than 100 documentary and feature films have been shot till today by the television. It was also underlined that the construction of the building for the employees of the Public Television and Radio has started with the patronage of Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Republic.
