Armenia could not hide its anxiety

The visit of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to Azerbaijan right after his visit to Irevan is not accidental, because new military agreement between Armenia-Russia created right dissatisfaction in Azerbaijan. Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan is more important for Kremlin. Touching upon this matter political analyst Rasim Musabeyov considers that the Russian president being in Baku has to convince Azerbaijan society and leadership that the agreement is not directed against Azerbaijan.
Unlike Russia-Azerbaijan cooperation, Azerbaijan-Russia relations are based on mutual useful principles. Armenia signing the last military agreement with Russia showed that it has gave up its independence completely. In fact Armenia is accepted as one of the provinces of Russia in international political circles. Rasim Musabeyov considers that Russia taking into the consideration that Azerbaijan is an important country must made Armenia to withdraw the occupied territories.
According to Richard Kirakosyan director of Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) the latest explanations of Sergey Lavrov, foreign minister of Russia to the Azerbaijani journalists showed great value of Kremlin to Azerbaijan relations. Recall that Russian foreign minister stated that the main duty of the Russian military base in Armenia is to defend the Russian interests. Moscow considers Azerbaijan as a strategic partner in the South Caucasus. According to Richard Kirakosyan Armenia suffers from Russia-Azerbaijan relations and Irevan has no possibility to give an adequate answer to the changes happened in Kremlin strategy.
