EU will increase financial assistance to Azerbaijan since 2013

East Partnership Initiative is of importance for Azerbaijan to get economic
benefit as well as to improve dialogue with neighboring countries, said Roland
Cobia, EU Representative to Azerbaijan, during discussions “Europe
Union-Azerbaijan relations: Perspectives of future cooperation” held in
Center for Strategic Researches attached to Azerbaijani President. Financial
assistance of 600 million manats is planned to be rendered to Azerbaijan within
the program aimed at improving relations with post-soviet countries. According
to the representative, since 2013 a little increase expected in the amount.
Saying that Azerbaijan is both an economic and strategic partner of the union,
Rolan Cobia stated that measures were also taken for visa regime simplification
with Azerbaijan. www.itv.az
