240,700 new jobs open in Azerbaijan over past three years
96.3% of new jobs were created in private sector
240,700 jobs, including 179,600 permanent ones were created in period from 1 January 2009 until 1 January 2012 within the framework of the second State Program for socioeconomic development of the regions.
According to sources in the State Statistical Committee, 94,100 jobs including 72,400 permanent ones were created in the country in 2011.
Last year 10.5% of jobs were created in new enterprises and organizations, 12.7% in existing enterprises and organizations, 0.4% in enterprises and organizations that resumed functioning and 76.4% were created by individuals.
70.1% were created in regions, including 19.7% in Aran, 14.8% in Ganja-Gazakh, 6% in Lankaran, 5.5% in Shaki-Zagatala and Absheron each, 5.4% in Guba-Khachmaz, 4.1% in Upper Karabakh, 3.9% in Nakhchivan, 3.7% in Upper Shirvan, 1.5% in Kalbajar-Lachin.
96.3% of new jobs were created in private sector, 5.2% in construction, 4.7% in commercial and transport repair, 3.3% in processing industry, 1.8% in financial and insurance activity, 1.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, as well as other enterprises in 2011.
