Dagestan and Ingushetia are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan
Presidents of the two republics told journalists in Baku
President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov and president of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov are also on a visit to Baku under large delegation led by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. During the visit they were in the mosque “Taza Pir” and prayed there. After praying in the mosque the two presidents got acquainted with conference hall and library of the mosque. Caucasian Muslims Office Chief Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh informed about religious books in the library. The meeting between Sheikh-ul-islam and the two presidents was held behind closed doors. Before the meeting the president of Dagestan has told journalists that the bilateral relations with Azerbaijan are successfully developing, basing on friendly neighboring principles.
“Dagestan is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. Visit of the Russian president to Azerbaijan is of great importance for improvement of our relations which are at the highest level in the economic, science, art and cultural spheres. Our relationship dates back to ancient times. But the main and common value between us is a religion. I highly appreciate the contributions of the sheikh-ul-islam to the development of our relations”, said the president.
While informing on joint projects the president added: “We have signed joint projects which are being carried out. During our meeting with Economic Development Minister we have determined the top priorities. They are agricultural, tourism and hydro energy spheres”.
President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov has stressed their efforts to develop the relations with Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan is an important partner for our. And of course we try to move forward our relations. An agreement on mutual regional cooperation will be also signed with Azerbaijan. It is an important document for us. www.itv.az
