Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights to examine a claim of internally displaced Azerbaijanis

Claimants are 6 Azerbaijani citizens- Elkhan and Adishirin Chiragov, Ramiz Jebrayilov, Akif Hasanov, Faxraddin Pashayev and Gara Jebrayilov. All of the claimants are living in Baku, except Akif Hasanov. These persons from Lachin region of Azerbaijan were forced to leave their homes on May 17 1992. Their properties were captured by Armenians. They claim that they are unable to use their properties, as they can not return to Lachin. Armenian government has not compensated their damages up to now. It should be noted that the petition was sent to the European Court of Human Rights on April 6, 2005. www.itv.az
