Morocco locusts can invade Azerbaijani capital, Baku

The insects have devoured greeneries in the both sides of Alat-Hajiqabul highway which is not far from Baku. They have destroyed 25 hectares of greenery out of 125 hectares. A vast majority of the greeneries attacked the insects are newly planted trees. Environment Ministry has already launched measures against the locusts. Republic Plant Protection Center said no reason to worry. They say that the situation is under control. It should be noted that a special operative headquarter is functioning in the area that invaded by the morocco locusts. www.itv.az
