The separatist regime in Nagorno Karabakh uses different ways for propagating its post stamps in the international arena. “Azermarka” officials told Ictimai that the agreement signed with the Universal Post Union prevents such activities of the separatists, but they try to continue their falsifications. Postage stamp is a state attribute. Every independent state should have its postage stamp. The first postage stamp of Azerbaijan was issued in 1919 during the period of Azerbaijan People’s Republic. Since Azerbaijan gained its independence in 1992, it has been issuing its own postage stamps. Up to now, 250 kinds of stamps have been issued in Azerbaijan. At present new stamps depicting the Old City of Baku are being prepared. By the way, the separatist regime in Nagorno Karabakh tries to propagate its postage stamps in the international arena, considering that stamp is a state attribute. Measures are being taken for preventing such activities. www.itv.az
