New big atlas of Azerbaijan to be made
Nearly 80 ancient maps confirming our historical territories found
Nearly 80 ancient maps describing our historical territories have been found in museums of France and Spain. The maps are very important to prove that Armenia are not aboriginal inhabitants of the Southern Caucasus.
Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, head of the project carried out by financial support of Foundation for Science Promotion, said that these unique foundlings which dates back to the large part of the Middle Ages, reveal the lie of Armenian scientists on historical truths. The document describe that Armenians lived across Tigris and Euphrates in Mesopotamia. There are Arabic and Persian inscriptions among documents which the original ones are reserved in museums of Hamburg, Bologne, Leiden, Pairs, London, Berlin and Vienna. The materials covered photo-copies of maps belonging to Azerbaijan and their transcriptions made by the European historians. The maps dating back to the first part of X-XIII centuries show that the historical lands of Azerbaijan stretch from Darbend city to the coast of lake Urmiya. Ottoman maps belonging to Caucasus brought from archives of Istanbul Prime Ministry are of great significance for study of the ancient history of Azerbaijan. Historical geography of these maps belonging to XVII-XIX centuries is described objective and detailed. The maps prove one more time that present-day Armenia is an ancient Azerbaijani land. The head of the project says that the maps will help to historians to make additions to the history of Azerbaijan. The work to look for such maps in other countries will be continued. By all newly found maps a new big atlas of Azerbaijan will be made.
