Hundreds of women are still held captive in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan

It was noted during public hearings held in the parliament of Azerbaijan

During the hearings it was noted that Azerbaijan as legal and political heir of Azerbaijan People’s Republic which is a pioneer of gender equality demonstrated political will for elimination of violence against women, and took necessary measures in this sphere. Nevertheless, violence against women remains its actuality in the political and social life. As a result of armed aggression of Armenians against Azerbaijan, thousands of Azerbaijani women died, were brutally tortured and insulted. There are still captive and hostage Azerbaijani women in Armenia. They are kept in unbearable condition and undergo tortures. It was noted that more active measures should be taken for elimination of violence against women in the society. www.itv.az
