On November 17, 1988 Azerbaijani people began struggling against unfair position
of the former Soviet power and anti-Azerbaijan policy of former rulers of the
republic. The people openly condemned Qorbachov who supported Armenian
territorial claims against Azerbaijan, and demonstrated to the world that they
were ready to struggle for territorial integrity and sovereignty of the
country. Being troubled about strong will of the Azerbaijani people, the Soviet
empire committed sabotages and tried to break their will by committing massacre
against civilians from the night of 19th to 20th of January, 1990. But due to
great fore runner Haydar Aliyev’s efforts of delivering truths about
Azerbaijan to the world community, a struggle started against national
discrimination and moral terror became an International Liberation Movement.
