Head of Azerbaijani delegation for Eurovision Adil Kerimli, head of public relations and monitoring department of Ictimai Tahir Mammadov, Azerbaijani commentator for Eurovision Husniyye Meherremova and Azerbaijani participant in ESC 2010 Safura Alizade who came fifth in the contest participated in the conference. First, Tahir Mammadov thanked local media for supporting the Azerbaijani representative during the contest and said the fifth place among 39 countries was a great success for Azerbaijan. Head of Azerbaijani delegation for Eurovision Adil Kerimli said all rumors saying that Azerbaijan has spent 10 million AZN to the contest are groundless:“1 million 560000 AZN has been spent for Safura Alizadeh’s promo tours, her choreography lessons and participation in this year’s Eurovision. Azerbaijani participant was supported by three sponsors. General sponsor was SOCAR. One part of the budget fall on Azerbaijan’s national broadcaster Ictimai. Other two sponsors are not elucidated. Main part of 1million 560000 has been paid by the sponsors” said head of the delegation. In regards to the fact that Armenian commentator for Eurovision did not comment the performance of the Azerbaijani representative during the contest, Adil Kerimli said: “We have been hearing about it since our arrival. We have already started investigations. If it is proved, we will address to the EBU. Only then we will make a statement”.Kerimli also said that national selections for the next Eurovision would start in September.Azerbaijani participant in this year’s Eurovision Safura said that she did her best to be winner of the contest. “Everybody said that I deserved the first place in the contest.
