Eurovision 2004 winner and Eurovision 2009 winner in Baku

Eurovision winners Alexander Rybak and Ruslana are in Baku. They arrived yesterday evening. Their aim is to perform at the semi final of the national selection to be held at Baku’s Buta Palace. This evening, both of the singers will perform the most popular songs of their repertoires. Alexander Rybak visits Baku for the first time, Ruslana several times. Both of the singers will sing the songs which brought them victory.  

6 candidates- Azad Shabanov, Safura Alizadeh, Maryam Shabanova, Ulviyya Rahimova, Elli Michiyeva and “Milk&Kisses” will compete in two hours semi final for participating in Oslo as Azerbaijani entry. There candidates out of 6 will be selected by the jury for the final. National Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan says Azerbaijani entry may be also selected today. It all depends on the jury which staff remains unknown.

After the decision of the jury, a press conference with the participation of the guests, organizing committee and candidates who will qualify for the final is expected to be held. www.itv.az
