Officials of the Ministry told Ictimai TV that on January 6, a Chinese who is
renting a house in Baku, appealed to Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat
Organized Crime saying that his wife was kidnapped with her car by unknown men.
Searching-operation group of employees of Interior Ministry and National
Security Ministry was created at once. It was found that the Chinese kidnappers
demanded ransom in amount of 300000 dollars for release of the woman. They said
if the police was informed and the ransom was not paid they would kill the
woman. They also said that they had cut the woman’s finger and threw it into
the yard in front of their house. The woman’s cut forefinger was found and
taken by the police. As a result of searching operations, the suspicious
Chinese citizens were detained. The woman was released. A case on article of
kidnapping of the Criminal Code has been launched. www.itv.az
